The beginning is always today.

Spring brings the idea of new beginnings sharply into focus for me every year. Somehow dirt and a tangle of roots brings an unending variety of life to the surface. Maybe that's why I'm addicted to digging in the dirt, and the bulbs and perennials that fill my yard. But even though I plan the garden and the way I think it might be in bloom, it is never quite what I expected. You can never really plan for what actually takes root and comes to life. New Recommendations for Back Pain Treatment

The American College of Physicians (ACP) released new guidelines for the treatment of the most common form of "non-specific" low back pain this week. Nonspecific pain is when your back hurts and "you're not sure what you did to it." The headline? For pain that has lasted less than 12 weeks, non-drug treatment is recommended as the first line of treatment, including heat-wraps, massage, acupuncture and spinal manipulation.  You can read more details in US News and World Report, and a number of other publications.
